KitKat Chocolatory

It’s Sunday morning and I am surprisingly already up at 8:00AM which is very rare. I am contemplating what I should do with the extra time and a few thoughts came to mind. Go to the gym? Do the laundry? Clean the house? Check out the new KitKat Chocolatory on Queen Street? I’m sure you can imagine which of these I decided to go with. KitKat Chocolatory here I come! I thought I was being smart by getting there the minute it opened to avoid any line ups but as I was stepping out of my Uber and onto the windy streets of Toronto today, I was greeted with an enormous line. Looks like everyone else in Toronto had the same idea.
This KitKat Chocolatory is the first pop up of it’s kind in Canada and it is only here until June 28th. Here, you can not only personalize your own KitKat bar with nuts, fruits, and other sweets but you can also buy special edition KitKat bars that are only being released here. The one that everyone has been talking about is the Ruby KitKat bar. This chocolate bar is made with ruby cocoa beans and is available exclusively at this pop up chocolatory. It has a natural pink hue and a unique berry flavor and even has an entire room at the chocolatory dedicated to it.
Sadly, it appears I arrived too late and they were sold out today. If you are a big KitKat fan and love to collect unique flavors, make sure you pick one of these up if you get a chance.
It was finally my turn to create my own unique KitKat bar at the kiosks. The first step is to pick your chocolate base. You can choose either dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate. I decided to make one of each. Each customized bar is $15 + tax and you can make as many bars as you like. The next step is to choose from 16 delicious ingredients to include on your bar. It was such a tough decision for me as you only get to pick 3. The last step is to choose your custom package design. You have 8 designs to choose from and then you can have your name printed as well as one of several optional tag lines.
Take a look at my finished creations below.
One thing to note, you may be asked to come back about 1.50 hours to 2 hours later to pick up your custom KitKats as it takes time for them to prepare each order. If you can’t make it back in that time, they will hold your order for you for 72 hours.
If you happen to be visiting Toronto this month, and you don’t have a KitKat Chocolatory where you are from, you should go check it out. The wait can be a bit long on weekends so try to go on the week days if you can. If you have a sweet tooth like me and an obsession with collecting unique KitKat flavors, this is an experience you don’t want to miss. If you don’t have the patience to wait in line to create your own custom KitKat, you can just walk in and shop around for the special edition KitKats that they have on display.
The KitKat Chocolatory in Toronto (423 Queen Street West) will be open until June 28th. Their hours are Monday to Saturday 11:00AM to 8:00PM and Sunday 10:00AM to 6:00PM.
